First Act is a project designed to offer a consistent development opportunity to some of Manchester's most vulnerable young people. Aiming to engage them in a positive future through introducing them to and developing their capacity in Acting Skills for stage, screen and TV.
‘When the Music Hits’ explores the heritage of the sound systems culture of Manchester, from its roots in Jamaican reggae music through the development in the UK and Manchester from the 1960s to the present day. It will also explore the impact of reggae on the newer African communities and introduce them to this heritage of the city and its musical foundation.
The Heartbeatz project incorporated a series of inclusive music workshops for young and older people, developing from our previous initiatives, weekly over five months to enable the group to network and achieve positive outcomes.
Rasta Roots was a Heritage Lottery Funded project delivered by Hercules Productions in 2013. It engaged young people to look at Rasta culture in the west through the teachings and speeches of H.I.M Selassie and Ethiopian culture.
